Hello Europe and welcome to the Europe Future Fringe initiative!

Europe Future Fringe came about as an idea of New Europeans to launch a citizen-led parallel event (or rather a series of events) to the EU’s official Conference on the Future of Europe. With Volonteurope and the EFF – European Future Forum joining New Europeans, an initiative board was formed that championed the idea into a real and tangible project.

By now you might have read about us in the press or on Twitter and signed up on our website, but have not heard from us personally. That is about to change.

Today we present to you our new logo and a sneak peak at what lies ahead.

Over the next few months, we will be lighting the way through these dark times with a digital torch. More specifically, we will be hosting our own digital #EuropeFutureFringe events. Those events will be fully interactive and focus on particular themes surrounding the future of Europe. We encourage all of you to join us at those events, which we will announce separately in due course.

Once we have debued our formats, we will help participating organisations to hold their own #EuropeFutureFringe events over the summer and prepare additional events for the fall.

Last, but certainly not least, we are currently developing our very own Europe Future Fringe app that will offer you one place, accessible from your mobile devices, where you can find all the events happening on our platform.

While we will be happy to support physical events, once the current crisis is over, we are just as happy to continue supporting all-digital events in Europe that will make it easier (and cheaper) for all citizens in Europe to participate in international events and connect with one another beyond borders.

We hope you will join us on this journey and look forward to the many stories and memories we will make together with #EuropeFutureFringe.

Would you or your organisation like to join the initiative board? We are very open to additional organisations joining forces with us. There are two ways to do so.

  1. Commit a substantial amount of your organisation’s resources to the initiative. Our three founding organisations have done just that and have made this initiative the primary focus of their 2020 and 2021 efforts. If you can muster this much passion and committment for our initiative, we’ll be absolutely delighted to count you among us.
  2. Obviously, most organisations have their own agendas and projects to contend with. As such, we do not expect many organisations will want to join our board. But we don’t want to scare you off either! The Fringe is and always will be citizen-led. So if you sign up to our mailing list on our front page, we will be sure to contact you about hosting your own #EuropeFutureFringe events, how it works and what we expect from events using our platform.
